To whom it may concern,

I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience shopping on your site. Several years ago while searching for pool filter parts, I came across A1PoolParts.com. At the time, I was able to obtain replacement pieces for my ancient Hayward DE2400. A1's prices beat the competition handily, both online, and at my local distributors.

Fast forward to a week or so ago, when our pump finally gave up for the last time. Faced with another patched repair, we decided it was time to "take the plunge" and update our 20+ year old pool. After gathering several local quotes, I remembered my past experience with A1.

Your wide product selection provided a dizzying array of possibilities, while the sites' navigation allowed comparison of several competing configurations. I have been able to provision a more aesthetic, capable, and efficient setup for less than half to cost available though local suppliers.

I would like to draw particular attention to Kari on your customer service team. Her deep product knowledge, humor, and extreme patience during my incessant barrage of questioning, has been invaluable in guiding me through to a refined vision. With her encouragement, and willingness to help, I believe I am almost assured success in my pool refurbishment.

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciated the follow up, attention to detail and superior customer service given to me by Kari Hassey. I orderd a Hayward Filter from your department and she was my contact. The filter was shipped exactly in the time frame she gave me.When I got my filter, my normal pool man was upset that we didn't order the filter from him(at twice the price) and he started giving me all sorts of grief that the filter was not a plumbing match and it was going to be a lot of work and costly to install it etc. etc and so I called Kari and she talked to her Hayward rep and no one could understand why it was such a problem, but she really tried to find out. She said if I had to send it back for a replacement of another kind she was willing to work with me on the re-stocking etc, but could not on shipping because it was a set cost to the Company. She was articulate and so willing to help that my fears of ordering on line for the first time were completely calmed down. She even suggested that I go to Hayward pool equipment web site and told me how to find a Hayward dealer in my area, which I did and I found South Valley Pool equip, who came out an installed the filter with a little plumbing change and at a very reasonable cost. He also came the next day when my "old" pool service wouldn't be able to look at it for at least a week. Problem solved and thanks to Kari Hassey not only do you have a permanent customer in me, I have told several friends about your on line ordering Company, the money I saved and the superior service from beginning to end. You better keep her on your payroll because she is a gem!

My son Stephen called A1 Pool and explained the situation. He spoke to a young lady named Lani. She contacted the parts dept, and they sent us what they thought was the correct part. Unfortunately it was not the correct part. Stephen then spoke to Lani again, and the parts dept. was very sorry for the mixup, and promptly sent the correct one, which we received yesterday. Thanks man. As I told you my weekend was getting off to a bad start, it sort of bummed me out when AAA decided they didn't want my business anymore. We have been buying all our pool related parts and chemicals there for 12 years. It is like they hold it against me that i do most of my own maintenance, I have been an aircraft mechanic for the last 25 years (A+P), installing PVC andwiring a simple control is really easy for me. So, why would I pay 50% more for the hardware and pay them 400 dollars for 3 hours worth of work for one person.I had just gotten out of a two hour meeting and I really didn't want to go home andtear my house apart looking for the receipt after dealing with them.

Your service was much appreciated. I will definitely send some costumers your way in the future.

I had the happy experience of receiving a small package with the cap magnet pad that I had ordered with the filter for our jacuzzi from you today. It was just totally awesome that you had the filter ready for us to pick up at will call when we were up in that area. My husband installed the filter for our jacuzzi last weekend and the water is cleaner and clearer than it has ever been. Thank you so much!! Your price for the filter was so much better than our local stores and getting to pick it up at will call saved us even more on the shipping. The extra surprise was the cap magnet pad today for my sister's pool that you sent as we couldn't find it at will call when we got the filter at Will Call. It was being purchased to have on hand so it was no inconvenience to get it by mail later and I appreciate that shipping charges weren't incurred. I have positive things to say about A1 Pool Parts and will continue to purchase anything we need for pools from you. If I could figure out how to put a positive input on your website I would. I am not great on the computer so at least I figured out how to write this! A1 Pool Parts in the very BEST!

Thank you for the response. Another question. Would there be any advantage to going up to the Pentair 1 hp pump for the additional $25.00. Would this do something wrong to the flow of my pool. My thinking is it may run easier with 1 Hp vs 3/4 Hp. Not as much strain on the motor. for the extra 25 dollars would this be any benefit? Dear Scott,

My name is Tom and I worked in the retail footwear industry for 26 years. My primary responsibilities were on the logistics and distribution side. However, I was also aware of limitations placed on our company by vendors. We consistently had to put up with vendors that placed limits on our promotions and even on everyday pricing. I always felt it was contradictory to the free market enterprise of our country.

In the early years of our company's existence ( the early 80's) this practice didn't seem to exist. We dealt with almost every vendor in the shoe industry. However, as these companies gained popularity and market share they suddenly wanted to start placing restraints on us. The founder of our company, like you, was committed to providing the consumer with the best price possible. He tried his best to avoid these restrictions. So much in one case that the vendor closed our account and refused to sell to us. Even though they eventually opened up to selling to the company again, they would not sell their complete product line and still placed strict controls on pricing and promotion. That still continues to this day. And what's even more frustrating is that there are newcomers to the industry that start out with those restrictions from the start. They have barely made a name for themselves! I don't understand.

In closing I want to thank you for having the courage to speak out. I wholeheartedly agree with your philosophy to provide the consumer with the lowest possible price. At some point the American consumer needs to wake-up and realize what is happening to them. If they don't then the free market enterprise will be incorrectly titled and the consumer will be stuck paying the same price no matter where they shop.

I'd like to tell someone there that I had a great experience at your store.

I'm a experienced internet shopper and I do a lot of research before buying things...especially when I'm going to drop $3K on pool equipment.   I'm also a capable homeowner who was up to the task of replumbing my 15 year old pool equipment with new stuff (two pumps, heater, filter, chlorinator, spa automation).

I found your store while searching on Froogle and noted that you're prices were overall the cheapest across the stuff I was ordering.   I called your tech help line and spoke to Ray, who did a great job at helping me to narrow my choices with the best quality components.   He then forwarded me to Scott who helped me size my pumps, filter, and validated the rest of my assumptions...then took my order.

I got my equipment a week later and finished the job in a month (working very part time on it).   From the emails below, you can see that even though I had a minor problem with shipping, A1 took responsibility and made me very happy.

In the end, the pumps and other equipment were sized great (due to Ray and Scott) and just what I was expecting (high quality).   I was even able to drop from a 1HP to a .5HP pool motor using the more efficient Pentair pump and a better pipe design...saving me 50% on my energy bill.

This was a big project for me as I've never done this before, but turned out great and I probably saved $2K by ordering through A1 and doing it myself.   What more can you ask?

I don't usually send emails like this to stores, but it's rare these days that I get wowed by customer service and great prices together.

I purchase a large amount of equipment services for my employer and personally for a recent home renovation.   A1 provided the fastest delivery time of any vendor that I have used this year.

I called seeking information about products that I wanted to purchase and Scott from A1 answered all my questions knowledgeably and even advised me that I didn't need to pick up the purchased equipment to get it the next day.   I ordered the equipment online through a very easy to use web site and the product was delivered to my house the next day.  I received everything I ordered, including an item that was not in stock when I ordered it.
